ANTEBAR

Design of the annual magazine for Diego de Covarrubias College, summarising the year's events, activities, and experiences from the residents' perspective.

WHAT?

Breaking from the long-standing tradition of featuring a classical artwork on the cover, I opted for a bold and minimalist design: black typography over a striking neon yellow background. This unconventional approach immediately captured attention and redefined the visual identity of the magazine. Inside, I introduced colourful geometric shapes against a white background, creating a fresh and dynamic contrast. The entire project was executed using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, alongside applying professional printing techniques.

HOW?

The radical cover design was intended to challenge expectations and introduce a new perspective on what the magazine could be. The vibrant yet simple aesthetic ensured maximum impact while maintaining readability. The playful geometric elements inside reinforced this modern and engaging approach, making the publication both visually stimulating and representative of the dynamic student life within the college.

WHY?

As Communication Manager for that academic year, I was responsible for designing the annual magazine Antebar. By moving away from tradition and embracing a contemporary, high-contrast style, the publication became a bold statement of change and creativity. This project not only documented the year’s events but also redefined the visual language of the magazine for future editions.
